Scapin is a very rapid, supple and acrobatic servant :as well as a bird, he fly away, come back speaking too much, sealing little things around him, fly away again and come back again mixing up everythings...

His name Scapino, come from "scappare"( to escape from, to leak).

He is not a "Don Juan" but he have much succes with the maid servants and he flirt with many girls..

In the commédia dell'Arte", Scapino was always wearing a mask.

I have now find a model of the Scapino mask with that drawing by Callot around 1622...
