A little about me ...

I am creating and making masks for 27 years ( 1981 ) ,and leather works for 33 years ( 1975 ). I make in a traditional way of superior-quality leather ,with the help of Anne-Marie, my wife...
I was born to Tananarive ( Madagascar) in 1951, I was always fascinated by the creations of the numerous Malagasy artists whom I watched working from my youngest age...
In 1969, I return in France to Limoges, where I study at the "Arts Décoratifs " of Limoges, the "Ceramics" (painting on china) during 2 years. (Years 1969/70 and 1970/71).
Fascinated by the " primitive Arts ", j ' travelled through several countries of Africa as well as in Mexico / Guatemala from, 1972 till 1975, where j ' studied mainly the Art of the pushed away leather, while creating many paintings and drawings during these journeys.
After this time I make exhibitions and craft markets (with a certain success) with my creations: leather pictures pushed away , carvings on leather, completely engraved bags, chiselled and pushed away by hand, and oil paintings ....
In 1977 I meet Anne-Marie. she is who attends me for 30 years, and she painted all the carnival masks since 1981.
In 1978, we settle down to Eze-Village, small medieval village between Nice and Monaco.
In 1981, we begin creating original leather masks for the Holiday and the Carnival.
During all that time, we worked a lot with theatrical troops which play with our masks of the Commédia dell' Arte. The first ones :"Vis Fabula " , "Miranda", "le Théâtre de la Bohème", "l'atelier du geste", of the region of Nice, then all France, Corsica, Switzerland , Belgium, UK, Germany, Sweden, for numerous theatrical companies.
The most prestigious theaters:
- National theater of Nice supervised by Jacques Bellay.
- Alexis Desseaux: actor, director who has his own school of theater in Rouen.
For the original masks of Carnival which we create since 1981, they were acquired by collectors (amateurs)of all over the world...
Now,since 2006 ,we leave the region of Nice to settle down in Catalonia...
